Backflushing the Grouphead

1. To begin, remove the portafilter. 
2. Purge the grouphead for 3 to 4 seconds. 
3. Using a brush, clear the portafilter gasket and screen of any large debris.
4. Insert the blind filter disk into your portafilter and add the coffee cleaning detergent. 
5. Lock in the portafilter. 
6. Place a container beneath the grouphead to collect any rinsing water. 
7. Enter the functions menu by pressing and holding both the + and - buttons for a few seconds. You will see “T2” on the screen. From there, you can cycle through the function's menu using the plus or minus buttons.  
8. Choose F.01 and press the coffee button to confirm. The washing cycle will start, showing CL1 on the screen. 
9. When the display shows CL2, remove the portafilter with blind filter disk and rinse both with water. 
10. Take out the blind filter disk. Lock the portafilter back in place and press the coffee button to continue the washing cycle. 
11. When the display shows CL3, remove the portafilter and re-insert the blind filter disk. 
12. Lock the portafilter back in place, and press the coffee button to continue the washing cycle 
13. At the end of the washing cycle, the display will show the initial screen. Unlock the portafilter and remove the blind filter disk. 
14. Clean the outside of the machine with a damp cloth and empty your drip tray after the cleaning cycle is complete.
