To perform a coffee cleaning, you’ll need:
To begin, remove the portafilter. Add the blind disk or replace the filter basket with a blind basket. Add your cleaning detergent.
This is also a good time to clean the group head gasket. Using a portafilter stiff brush, clean around the gasket, making sure to remove any coffee grounds. Note that all groups will run the cleaning cycle, so be sure to prepare each group head and portafilter.
To access the automated backflush cycle, hold the C – or middle button – down for 10 seconds until the LED lights flash or a message is displayed on the screen. For Classe 7 or Classe 9 models, you can scroll using the A & B buttons and select using the C button.
With the blind basket and cleaning solution ready, lock in each portafilter.
Press the C button again to start the automated backflush cycle.
When the cleaning cycle has finished, the C button will light up again. Rinse any coffee or cleaning solution out of the portafilter basket and lock in the portafilters again with the backflush disk or blind basket still in place.
Press the C button again to begin the rinse cycle.
After the rinse cycle is finished, you have now completed the automated backflush and daily group head cleaning!
