Strawberry Almond Latte with Rose Sugar

A sweet and bright summertime latte, balancing fruity and floral flavors!

It's strawberry season! Coffee lovers rejoice - with a delicious balance of sweetness and tartness, strawberries make the perfect addition to various drinks, including a summertime latte. They say that good things take time, which is applicable here not only to great produce but also to great coffee! Recipes are crafted to develop a sensory experience, balancing flavor and texture. In this time of year when the strawberries are fresh, there is truly nothing more refreshing or sweet to enjoy.

Our team recently visited Tom’s Farm & Cafe in Huntley, IL where we hand-picked deliciously ripe strawberries. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to explore their abundant farm store while sipping some Conscious Cup Coffee at their on-site cafe - all brewed on a Rancilio Classe 5. With a box of fresh strawberries and a bag of coffee in hand, we were inspired to create a seasonal recipe to share the taste of summer with you. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Strawberry Almond Latte with Rose Sugar

Start by making your ingredients!

Strawberry Syrup

  • 2 cups diced fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 to 2/3 cup sugar
  1. Place all ingredients in a small or medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Turn heat down to maintain a simmer. When the strawberries begin to soften, mash them with a potato masher or firm spatula.
  3. Simmer for a total of 15 minutes, or until the syrup starts to thicken.
  4. Pour through a fine mesh strainer, and press on the back of the fruit pulp to extract more flavor.
  5. Pour into an airtight storage container.
  6. Cool to room temperature and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Rose Sugar

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dried rose petals
  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor. Pulse on low speed until blended.
  2. Store in a sealed jar.

Now build your drink!
