RS1: How To Use Self-Leaning Mode

Take Your Brew To Its Full Potential.

Rancilio Specialty machines were crafted to let baristas access higher control over their espresso extraction. In Self-Learning Mode, the RS1 will remember recipe parameters from a shot you pull manually for future use.

Explore the RS1

Rancilio Specialty machines were crafted to let baristas access higher control over their espresso extraction. The RS1 offers full customization over a variety of extraction metrics, including time, temperature, pressure, and volume. While you can program these directly into the machine, the RS1 also features Self-Learning Mode.

In Self-Learning Mode, the RS1 will remember recipe parameters from a shot you pull manually for future use. The machine will record the time, volume, and flow meter pulses of that espresso, as well as any pre- or post-infusion you have manually added.

Afterwards, you can make slight adjustments to the recipe if needed as well as save it on the machine for future use.

How To Use Self-Learning Mode...

1) On the touch screen, select the group head and button you want to program. Make sure that “Test” is OFF.

2) Prepare your portafilter to pull a shot of espresso.

3) Press the button you would like to program. Your machine will now manually pull your espresso shot.

4) Press the button again when the desired amount of espresso is reached. The machine will save this volume in mL.

5) Save with the back arrow or hit X to cancel.

6) Repeat these steps for each button you’d like to program.

Congrats! You have successfully used Self-Learning Mode!
